A striking and unusual pair of Victorian clam shell planters or fountains dating from the mid 19th century. These natural giant clam shells make beautiful garden features, usable as planters, statuary or even fountains for a pool or pond. There are drainage holes and evidence of old pipes. Highly decorative, each large clam shell sits atop a buff terracotta pedestal decorated with leaf and floral embellishments.

Though unstamped, it is possible that these clam shell fountains or planters were made by Blanchard or Blashfield.
