About this piece
back to topA pair of striking Victorian era brass monopodia dragons mounted on contrasting sienna marble bases, circa 1880.
Once decorative or supporting brackets for furniture or architecture, these dragon sculptures each have a dramatic s-shaped silhouette, making eye-catching display pieces on columns in a hallway or placed either side of a mantelpiece.
Freestanding, each monopodia has a mythological design with a snarling dragon head to the top above a clawed foot to the base.
