A small, late 19th century stained glass window or wall hanging in the shape of a shield originating from Germany. One of two similar we are selling.

This stained glass window hanging a leopard or cheetah above the words ‘Ohne Hast, Ohne Rast’. This translates to ‘Without Haste, Without Rest’ and is the title of a poem about work and labour by mid 18th and early 19th century German poet and playwright Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

It is affixed with hoops, ready for hanging in a sunlit window, conservatory or sun room.
