A reclaimed Marzia Colonna (B. 1951) green patinated bronze twisted torso sculpture. Constructed in solid bronze in a mid-century modern style, this Italian sculpture is an unusual piece that would certainly take pride of place in any home.

Dating to circa 1995, this limited edition sculpture is signed ‘colonna 4.12’. The piece displays life size details of the figure, including its spine, breasts, hip and shoulder bones.

Marzia Colonna (B. 1951)

Born in Pisa, Marzia Colonna entered art school at just 12 years old and continued to study at the Academia di Belle Arti, in Florence.

In 1979, she had her first solo exhibition in London, ever since then she has exhibited regularly. Her work consists of mainly private and corporate collections in Europe, the United States, and Australasia.

Since 1985 she has lived and worked in West Dorset.

Some of her more well known public commissions include a crucifix for Salisbury Cathedral, ‘St Adhelm’ for Sherborne Abbey, ‘Mermaid’ for the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, ‘Kite Flyer’ for Winchester and a life-sized piece in Krakow named ‘Earth and Sea’.
