back to topThis early 19th century French antique marble statue of a leaning youth has stood the test of time for over 220 years. This has given the marble a beautifully weathered finish that only time can create while the form and face of the cherub is still intact and recognisable. The curly haired youth reclines on a cushion carved into a tassel at the front which unusually takes the form of a long-tailed animal – possibly a dog or lion – at the back. A beautiful antique statue for a period garden or feature of a rockery.
