About this piece
back to topThis picturesque set of 4 oval stained glass window hangings by artist Lyn Claydon depict scenes of the four seasons. Dating from the late 20th century, they are a beautiful set, detailing British wildlife and animals including birds, a dragonfly, swallows, nesting ducks, a red squirrel, a hare and a robin in vibrant colours that change as the seasons pass by. Each stained glass roundel is signed and dated by the artist and has a hanging point at the top, perfect for placement in a south-facing window.
Lyn Claydon (b.1943) trained at Oxford Polytechnic before becoming an apprentice to her mother, Barbara Batt, in 1975. Claydon went onto work at Badger Banks Studio in Harpsden before opening her own studio in Henley in 1992. Claydon’s stained glass windows can be found at various religious sites in Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
