About our range
A fortified private manor house, Wingfield Castle was the ancestral home of the Wingfield family and their heirs, the de la Pole family.
During the reign of King Henry VII (1485-1509), the castle passed to the crown and was given to Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk, who would later go on to marry Mary Tudor, sister to King Henry VIII.
Over the next few centuries, the castle would pass through five further families including the Catlin family before Lord Bemers sold the property to the Adair family in 1886.
