About this piece

A varied and impressive collection of 3 natural mineral specimens, each presented on an exclusive medium neoclassical style plaster plinth.

Featuring a Celestite, tourmaline and Madagascan green fluorite, each impressive cabinet specimen in this collection has its own striking form and finish.

This spectacular group of mineral specimens have been hand-selected to create a unique set, ideal for use as natural sculpture in an interior.

Arranged in any formation, they make beautiful decorative pieces for a collector’s cabinet or sideboard, showcasing wondrous specimens of natural history.

As displayed left to right:

Celestite

Named for its delicate pale sky-blue colour, celestite minerals from Madagascar, such as this one, are considered some of the finest. It is said that the Sakoany deposits of Madagascan celestite were first discovered by a cattle herder who found crystals on the shore of the bay.

Tourmaline

This specimen has variable preservation of terminations, adding an intriguing natural character.

While tourmaline may not shine as other minerals, it offers a distinctive look, almost like fossilised tree trunks, displaying various brown tones in a formation of layers.

Originating from Zimbabwe, the crystals of this mineral have a raw, natural quality that sets them apart from other tourmaline varieties.

Madagascan green fluorite

A Madagascan green fluorite features in this collection with its bright emerald green colour and spectacular radiating vein like features.

It is an impressive scale and unusual irregular shape with a natural raw finish displayed on a custom neoclassical style stand.

Fluorite, from the latin ‘fluere’ meaning ‘to flow’, forms in bands of largely fluorescent colour, hence its name. It is also known to change colour in different forms of light.
