About this piece
back to topThis large scale antique Georgian wrought iron pedestrian gate dates back to circa 1830.
The gate has two rows of dulled spikes with scrolls, unusually mirrored along the top edge with twisting, spiked details pointing downwards. An arching piece of metal provides structural and visual relief to the bottom portion of the gate, giving it a contemporary look even though it is almost 200 years old.
With a wide opening, this gate allows for clear access between buildings or sections of a garden. The tight bars along the base are ideal for keeping small animals in (or out!)
