About this piece
back to topAn antique etched glass three panel room divider depicting classical scenes. In Louis style, this is an excellent room divider evoking elegance while giving a glimpse into the garden view of a grand French home. It is unusual to find panels such as this with a full matching scene, making these doors quite the find.
The etched glass displays the garden of a grand home or royal palace. Two peacocks reside elegantly on the columned wall while swallows swoop, a fountain spurts water in the centre ahead of two fluted urns, and tapestry hangs above.
The doors have a stripped finish with raised and fielded panels to both front and back.
