About this piece

An antique 18th century medieval style carved oak door or panel; one of two similar for sale at UK Heritage.

Previously used as a decorative panel and transformed into a door, this carved antique door is a fascinating piece, making a spectacular architectural feature of a home office, library or reception room. The fruitwood carving depicts a male styled in the manner of a neoclassical term, with torso bare, a head of curled hair and a large beard. He is surrounded by a frame of fruits and foliage with carved floral roundels to each corner.

With a plain reverse, this handsome carved oak door could alternatively be styled into an interior as a decorative wall panel, creating a feature of the medieval style carving.
