About this piece
back to topA beautiful pair of French late 17th/early 18th century walnut caryatids, handcarved with collared female masks above fleur-de-lys and an abundance of fruits and foliage.
Likely once architectural details of a grand panelled interior or cabinet, these antique carvings are handsomely decorated, the fruits and foliage including grapes, pomegranates, pears, leaves and pinecones.
Each approximately 1.37m long (4.5 ft), these caryatid carvings will make beautiful interior décor pieces on an interior wall or either side of a large chimneypiece.
