Provenance

Formerly part of the collection of Paul Atkinson. Atkinson has been an antiques dealer and collector since the 1970s. After opening his first shop in Matlock, Derbyshire, his reputation was propelled onto the international stage, exporting antiquities across the globe. He opened a gallery in the Louvre des Antiquaires in Paris in 1979. Throughout his career, Atkinson acquired pieces from celebrities, artists and aristocrats alike.
