This antique Aphrodite or ‘Crouching Venus’ sculpture is based upon the Roman sculpture in the Royal Collection which was acquired  by Charles I from the Gonzaga collection in Mantua. Sourced from a private collection in Oxfordshire.

Condition Report

There are some losses and repairs to the fingers. Good structural condition. Lightly weathered finish.
