Good structural condition. Slight bends and deflections in the lead typical of the material. Ready for wall mounting using 2 fixings at base (supplied) and screw to the top. Indistinctly stamped to edge.

Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770-1844)

One of the most notable sculptors of 19th century Europe, Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen lived most of his life in Rome, Italy.

He was prominent in Roman intellectual and artistic circles, famed for his classical sculpting style often inspired by themes from the bible or ancient mythology.

Many of his original works reside in The Thorvaldsens Museum in Copenhagen, dedicated to showcasing the work of this talented neoclassic, classical sculptor.
